Funeral arrangements

Aunt Wilda Boydstun's funeral is set for Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas 76801. Lunch is being provided at the Austin Ave. Church of Christ for any family members who can make it. Rita and I plan to be there.

Aunt Wilda passed away

Aunt Wilda died peacefully yesterday (Thursday) about 11:00 am. Uncle Lealand seems to be doing well and Max and Nelda got to Brownwood last night. They are going to make funeral arrangements today. I will post those as soon as I get them. Max said they are going to try to set it for Sunday afternoon.

Mom and I are grateful we saw her on Monday morning (Christmas Day) on our way from Providence Point to Horeseshoe Bay and Austin. She seemed alert and was finishing eating her breakfast. Curt and Ruth Dickie and the Hospice nurse were there with Uncle Lealand when she passed yesterday.

Aunt Wilda was special to us as Rita considered her a second "mom" because of the amount of time she spent with them growing up and as we were courting. We met in the Boydstun's back yard in San Diego. We will miss her a lot.

Merry xmas to me

Well I wanted to share with everyone that after nearly 2 years of work we got word today that the SEC has no further comments to our registration. In other words, we are clear for take-off. Please keep us in your prayers. We will be hitting the road on January 2nd and hope to price by January 11th. We still need to find someone who wants to buy the stock, but at least we will be able to talk about it. There is a friends and family program so if you have anyone who wants in on the ipo, forward that information on to Will Lunsford.

SEC clearance was all I wanted for xmas- they waited until the last possible day, but after herculean efforts from our employees, accountants, and attorneys, the SEC sent couldn't think of anything else they could ask us to do--hooray!!!

I hope you all have a great and safe xmas. We are truly, richly blessed. I love xmas. I have so many great memories of celebrating with you guys. Mom, you have done a great job of filling our hearts with the true meaning of xmas. I can't think of xmas without thinking about the smile on your face every year as we opened our presents from you and dad. My heart is overflowing with gratitude. I still remember going to bonaza restuarant before we got our tree and hanging those ugly paper ornaments on it. We have come a long way since then- 6 outlaws and 22 grandkids. I love you guys. I will be thinking of all of you on xmas morning as my kids are opening their presents.
Merry Christmas

Great ideas, girls! I'm thinking next year we can do our pageant outside in mom and dad's yard! Anyone want to work on providing a newborn baby Jesus! (Olivia will be old enough to walk out of the manger by then...) And we'll need to reserve the live camels and sheep early. I can see it now--Luke, Alex, A.J., Josh & Josiah chasing camels down Trinity Drive! What a memory!

Meanwhile, I found this terrific piece that will work year-round! What do you all think?

I'm seeing live camels!

Just read the post about the inflatable nativity. Some of the previous comments were written from a Midland perspective. As a resident of Odessa, at least one piece of yard art is expected. Check your deed restrictions for specific requirements. While the inflatables will meet the minimum standards for Odessa, your legendary creative skills require much more. We are envisioning live sheep, camels, plus a donkey, along with a rotation of New Life members as the live cast for the nativity scene. It could work.

Alan will take the first shift as the donkey.

World Mandate

I know we always bug everyone to go to World Mandate so I wouldn't want to let you down by not mentioning it! This year's dates are Feb 2-4 and the cost is $55 before Jan 1st. If you want to check out the info, the website is http://www.antiochcc.net/worldmandate/. If anyone is serious about going, I would register pretty quickly because you don't want to be in the overflow room! McKenna is going with us this year.
Hope everyone is doing well! I THINK we may be able to do laundry now, but only God knows for sure! Looking forward to Christmas!

Blessings,
Anda

Lena is 1 year old!

Lena had a great doctor's visit this morning. The doctor said she is quite smart. She is
ahead in developmental milestones. She said everything looks good, and that I'm doing a
great job. Lena jumped back onto the charts at the 90th percentile. She weighed 23 lbs. 9 oz.
and she is 30 in. tall. The doctor considers her a walker, she's just not a steady walker yet.
Lena has now walked up to 7 ft. across the living room. And when she falls down, she crawls over to something to pull up on, and is walking again. You can't keep her down for long. She
likes to walk.

We did a small celebration for her birthday today. We took her out for pizza (one of her favorite foods) and presents. We gave her a little baby doll and she absolutely loves it. She immediately started hugging and kissing her doll. She would give her doll lovin's and pat her on the back. Lena loves babies.

We are all doing fine. Lena has 3 teeth coming in on the top, so she's a little cranky at times. But other than that, she's pretty happy.

Can't wait to see you all in few weeks.

Question--don't laugh at me...

I'm considering buying a 9 foot inflatable nativity for our frontyard. I need your opinion--cheap and cheesy or something fun for kids that represents who we celebrate at Christmas? How do you feel about yard art nativities in general?

Tod, where are you?

Tod, what would you think about taking turns blogging each week and you start us off? Obviously, anyone can still jump in at any time but if one felt some special reason to make an entry during his week we could keep the flow going. What do you think?

latest record?

I'm so proud to announce that my husband, the amazing Dr. Brown, just did the 3-6-3 in 5.38 seconds. We figure that someone has probably topped that already, but I had to brag anyway!
