Question--don't laugh at me...
I'm considering buying a 9 foot inflatable nativity for our frontyard. I need your opinion--cheap and cheesy or something fun for kids that represents who we celebrate at Christmas? How do you feel about yard art nativities in general?

Of anything you could get, a nativity scene would be the best. If it is not always inflated and lighted some way it will lose a lot of its effectivness and in West Texas it will have to be well secured against the wind. Other than those logistical barriers, I think it is a great idea. Well done... thumbs up! Otherwise it will probably be noticed for other than positive impressions. Hope it works well and we can all enjoy seeing it. Dad
Sorry--personal opinion--I am not fond of blow up decorations. Most I have seen today are laying in a puddle. Why don't you consider making a realistic nativity for next year? Much more interesting.
I have to agree with Mom and Dad. It would take time out of your day just to keep it inflated. And, who would keep it inflated while you're gone out of town? My personal thought is that blow up decorations are kinda cheap and tacky. I agree with Mom in that you make a realistic nativity for next year. I think it would make more of an impression than a blow up one, and it would show off how artistic and creative you are.
Okay, for people trying to convince me to simplify my life, you aren't helping!!! Just kidding. That's what I really want to do (make a more realistic one) and why I wanted a jigsaw in the first place (although not to show off anything--there are LOTS of people way more artistic and creative than me!). I saw one years ago that I so wish I'd taken a picture of.
But you've convinced me. There's nothing more un-merry than a deflated decoration laying on the grass--which is how most people have them during the day. And I hadn't thought about the wind. Thanks. Just needed a voice or two of reason!
