Labor Day & the poor

Just wondering if anyone knows the scoop about Labor Day weekend. Are we assigning different meals/grocery shopping again? Is this THE family weekend? Just checking!
Please keep us in your prayers - we're treading through this loving the poor/hearing the Lord TOGETHER/making hard decisions thing this week. LONG story, but we basically ended up saying no to Brandy's kids staying here for a week with their "dad" Dave (who is staying with us this week because he is temporarily homeless again). Randy also had to tell him that he couldn't be here when he wasn't home. We believe that we did hear the Lord on all this (the boundary issue is kind of a "no-brainer"), but it is still very hard to shut out guilt and walk in confidence (at least for me). We've been dealing with this non-stop since the night before we returned from Destin (yes, a single, somewhat clueless cell member called us in Florida trying to get us to make a quick decision about Dave living with us for the next 3 weeks). Anyway, the bottom line is that God is doing big things with me and Randy as we are learning to walk together in unity on the same mission. He is very good, and what He is doing is very good - but I was kind of ready to run back to the beach last night!! Ha!
Hope everyone's school kick-off was wonderful! We start 2 weeks from today, but our schedule is crammed full of pre - school activities and soccer practice before then! Back to life in the real world!
Love you guys - bless you all today with the revelation of the realness of Jesus!

Anda,
I will be praying for you this week. He is faithful. School has hit us hard. On top of two high schoolers who both loaded up on honors classes this year, football and volleyball are in full swing and soccer starts soon. Hutton is also going to be on the speech team this year. Bailey has volleyball on Saturday of Labor Day weekend, Connor has football and Tod absolutely can't miss another Sunday so our family won't make it out there until Sunday afternoon for a 24 hour stay. He really only gets a few Sundays a year and I don't think I want to go without him this time so we will have a very short trip. Anyway that is our plan for now...I'm not sure about anyone else.
