My dad and Mitch had an amazing time in St. Louis. They were so glad they got to see game #3 on Tuesday night (5-0 win that Carpenter pitched), because game #4 got rained out! Dad called Terry Rush who is a HUGE Cardinals fan (Mike Cope calls him a "stalker") and gave the tickets to him. Terry brought his son, and they ended up being there on the winning game Friday night!
As disappointed as we were that they got rained out, we had a great time watching the game in Austin with my family thinking about Terry Rush being there - we couldn't believe it! And that doesn't even include the joy that my dad unabashedly expressed in the living room when the Cardinals won!
We've also had fun reading Mike Cope's blog with Terry Rush and his sons commenting, and now, today, there's a link on Mike's blog to view Terry's office (a.k.a. "Cardinals shrine") that his friends decorated to surpirse Terry when he came home from the game.
Super fun baseball season from a really "scrappy" team - now, the Cardinals look "brilliant and talented." Underdog stories are so amazing when it's your team winning (not so good when your team is losing).
So all the universe is right....Cards won the series. You've been a kind blog family to listen to Cardinals Fever. Now I'll leave you alone....until next season.
