We left Bailey at Sikes dorm yesterday and I got a little taste of the future I'm not sure I cared for! She was a little teary and I was a lot teary but we made it. Her roommate was very late and I was starting to worry but she had a very good reason. Her family lives in American Samoa (sp?) as missionaries and she flew from there to Austin and then drove to Abilene. Her name is Colleen Ashley and her sister is a student at ACU and her parents graduated from there. She seems very sweet and laid back...she a Bailey are taking the same classes which will be wonderful for keeping on schedule. I talked to Bailey today and she had been to her first class and said they have a quiz tomorrow. She met several people last night...some girls from Arlington, Los Angeles and Andrews and a guy from San Antonio I think. Please pray for a great experience for her...a month seems like a very long time for her mom!
Sometimes life sneaks up on you. It seems that way with our girl (young woman), Bailey. I can hardly believe she is beginning her ACU experience. I have so much confidence in her and her maturity, that I feel sure she will be a blessing to all around her. I know it has to be hard on her family, but what a blessing that she is so ready and capable to handle this incredible experience. She is making us all so proud. We love all of you, rita
