a little mystery excitement for the blog

Since life on the blog has been a little slow lately, we thought we'd spice it up for you. Randy lost his keys last Monday at some point. The last place we saw them was at the lake when we were packing so he came to the conclusion yesterday that he must have lost them at the lake. This a.m. when he woke up for his 5:30 walk he noticed that his car was gone. We reported it, etc., etc. and were really bummed. At church the cops called asking if he knew where his car was (the report apparently hadn't even been filed yet; some cops had just found it). It was in a well-known "drug" neighborhood (no, it wasn't Como - HA!) with HIS CAR KEYS IN IT and it is totally trashed. We just realized about 10 minutes ago that they took every seat in the car. There is a back seat in it, which RB turned around to sit on in order to drive the car home, but we just realized that it's not leather and his seats were leather. I guess the guys didn't find this other back seat satisfactory and stuck it in Randy's car??! They took his registration and inspection stickers, gas cap, engine cap, all the oil, ripped out all the seats and who knows what else! All we can figure out is that someone must have gotten their hands on his keys Monday afternoon when we were unloading - either they fell on the driveway or someone got them from the diaper bag when our car was open when we were going back and forth unloading. It's a bummer to realize that it was more than likely someone in our neighborhood who had something to do with it. We are SO SO thankful that we had not had another key made for the Suburban yet! THAT would've been a REAL bummer!! We don't have pictures right now because RB took it to Walmart to have some more oil put in it, but we'll blog some when we get it back. Life is always an adventure around here! And we don't even live in the hood yet!! Ha!

Blessings,
Anda

Can not believe it! So the car is still driveable, just with different seats?

As if you didn't have enough excitement with five kids - like you NEED more adventure in your life right now!

Glad you're all OK - sorry about the car!
