Brasil, Dia Quatro
Hey Gang,
The days feel like they are slipping away from us. The work here is great, but the people are even better. Leila and Zannatta are two of my favorite people in the world. Linda and Alvaro may be a close second. We attended the reunion this morning. I snuck out to work on my class for tomorrow. I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the thought of trying to give them something helpful.
At lunchtime, Zanatta took us to one of the open markets here. Connor got to try a lot. He has been a trooper and isn't afraid to try anything. He found a little something he likes that he will share with you guys when we get home. Then we went to the churrascaria and ate too much. Connor loved it.
The afternoon was free and the students were playing soccer. We went to watch them and Connor played with them. The students are adults and very serious about their soccer. He did great and nearly scored a goal.
We went to dinner with Linda, Alvaro, Gabriella and a famous professional soccer player who was converted and is now a preacher. He spoke the first day and did a great job. Linda and Alvaro have a spectacular sense of humor. They laugh a lot and I laugh with them. They are so happy with this work and so well suited to it. I have thought several times that the presence of the spirit of God is very evident in their lives. It was really a joy.
Tonight we went to the downtown church and I was asked to preach again. They responded really well. It was really cool to see the church again. So many people remember me, except they weren't alive when I iwas here. They are remembering my brothers and think I look like them. Sorry guys. We read the names of the group that came in 1996. Mom and Dad and Lee Ann are all there. I, apparently, wrote my name in a spot that really needed tile. Oh, well.
Hope all is well in the states. On to tomorrow. Grace.

Tod, I am laying awake thinking about your blog. You can't imagine what intense joy it brings me. I think part of it is knowing that my son and grandson are experiencing the land and the people that we love so much. I also can just imagine the interchanges between Zanatta and Leila with Connor. I am so proud of him. I also know that the words you are sharing with them from the Lord are just what they need. You always have such a beautiful way of doing that. I will be praying for you as you go through the graduation tonight. I know you will bless them. Are you speaking in Portuguesee or English when you speak at the churches? Either way, I am so proud of you both. Give everyone hugs from us. Wish we could be there, but I know that you are representing us with honor. Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to do this. Take lots of pictures. The blog is one of the best presents we ever received.
