baby report
You guys have probably already heard, but I'll give you the quick update just in case. Sonogram on Monday showed big baby - estimated at 81/2 pounds if born right now (but you know how accurate those estimates can be). My doctor is really laid back, but did say that she really didn't want me to have a 10 pounder, so she's already thrown out the induction offer. When I told her I really was wanting to not be induced this time, she said just to let her know if I changed my mind and mentioned maybe stripping my membranes next week. Dilated to 2 cm and 50% effaced already. Pretty much looking like this will probably be a November baby! Randy's calling "her" (he's still convinced it's a girl) "Big Bertha." We're both going back and forth on the whole induction option - praying, so we'll see how the Lord leads us!
Love you all,
Anda

Oh Anda none of us want you to have a 10 pounder! It really does sound like a November baby is on the way. I had my membranes stripped with Hutton and he came that night. I was already a week late but not dilated or effaced. Whatever you decide will be great and we can't wait!
Hang on, Anda! Stroller and car seat are on the way -delivery should be Nov. 15-16th- I hope that's not too late!
I'm still guessing a boy - just like #5 Randy - to finish up your clan. The suspense is building - not knowing is so fun!
love you!

I am so excited. I am repacking my suitcase. I will call to discuss some plans. April called today to say that the doctor told her it could be any day and to get her suitcase packed. (It has been packed for a month.) I am still thinking hers is going to be a December baby, and the timing is going to work out perfectly.
We're hoping she/he is here by Thanksgiving! That would work out nicely for us to come and meet that precious little (or big) one! 10 pounds might be a challenge, but I never believe those estimates either. I'm all for safe and healthy, whatever that takes! There's nothing noble in waiting if induction is the best option. My friend Cheryl--missionary in Uganda--had 3 in Africa, 1 in Tyler--thinks anyone who doesn't take full advantage of medical options available to make things safer and easier (many of which are not available in Africa!) is crazy. I guess it's all in your perspective, huh?
Whatever happens, we're praying for a healthy baby and can't wait to meet him or her! (It really is fun waiting for the surprise!)
We love you lots, and think of you all the time!
