Ready for adventure

Well, it's 4:40 a.m. and I can't sleep. I am finally excited about the trip. I think we are going to see some spectacular work of God. Right now they have approximately 180 inches of snow where we are going. (The roads are supposed to be clear by this afternoon when we get there.) They say it is the most snow they have had since 1916. I can only imagine it will be beautiful, and we will be in awe of God's handiwork. Of course, my suitcase is huge--layers and layers for the cold weather.

One of my thoughts this morning is how grateful I am for the generous spirits of Cary and Jill. They have worked tirelessly to provide this experience for the employees--an experience they would probably never have otherwise. I know that much of their joy is going to come from watching the others enjoy it. I am so proud of them.

My other thought and prayer this morning is for Randy. He is one of a kind, and we are all proud of him. I cannot wait to hear what God is going to do through him. I am reminded once again of one of my new favorite scriptures used by Alan in a class last week: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God [God's presence]...follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before...Consecrate yourselves, for ...the Lord will do amazing things among you." (Joshua 3:3-5) I know God is going to do amazing things. We will keep praying constantly for Randy as he follows a way that he has never been before.

I have lots of thoughts this mornning, but I will save some of them for later--by which time I will surely have forgotten them. I love you all. I am taking 2 digital cameras, so I will try to post a picture or two if I can figure it out. I am trying to go cold turkey from film to digital, but I am almost getting "cold feet" and packing a film camera "just in case." We'll see. The plane may not get off the ground with our luggage.

God's presence with each of you today. Love you, Mom

This is Cary. I slept soundly (as usual). Jill had me packed when I got home from work. I'm excited this morning - thanks for thinking of us. Love you, Cary.

I saw a news story from Lake Tahoe about how much snow there is. I hope you get there safely and without too much hassle. Keep us up to date. I hope you have a really wonderful time.

Grace.
