Great Day in Sicily--Still no luggage!!!
We had a beautiful day in Sicily. It is a quaint and picturesque place--totally like you see in the movies--little VERY narrow steep little streets with motor scooters and tiny cars going every direction. We saw a Roman theatre built 400 BC and so many beautiful views of the deep blue Ionean Sea.
Our luggage didn't make it yet. Perhaps it will catch up with us day after tomorrow in Turkey. We met another couple in the same situation, and we are having a fun time comparing notes. She had time to buy a dress and shoes in Nice, France before they boarded. I bought a pink fleece in the "boutique" and Dad bought a slipover sweater. I washed my underwear and dried it with the hairdryer. Tonight we will send our clothes to be laundered during the night with the promise that they will have them back tomorrow morning since we will be wearing nothing but our little terry housecoats. Tomorrow night is the formal night--hmm. The boutique has nothing except "logo" stuff and it is all VERY expensive. For the most part we are still in the clothes we put on Sunday morning in Midland. I really need some blush and eyeshadow, but I refuse to pay $49 for blush in the "boutique." It is really a character building experience. Sherri, my new best friend, says she has her moments, but we both agreed we are trying to remember the poor people in Africa who never have anything else to wear.
Tomorrow is a day at sea with lots to do including a photography class tomorrow morning. Yea! Right now the sea is VERY rough with the ship's horn going off every few minutes. Everyone is having trouble just walking. It is as rough as I have ever experienced.
I will try to write more tomorrow. Love, Mom
