Anticipating Resurrection Sunday!

Just FYI, we had 213 this past Sunday, a new biggest number for a "normal" week. It was so exciting (not the number, but the energy in the place)! One baptism-Marc Hoffnagle (owner of Bahama Buck's). We sent out our Easter mailer and it was received last Thursday or Friday, so some of our new visitors were in response to that. We are excited about this week too!

Yesterday at t-ball one of the moms told me that her family is coming to New Life this week. They're Catholic and she said this is a hard week to be Catholic--with Mass every night and all, so she was telling people that this week they're members at New Life Church. She was just kidding, but we had a great conversation about it all, and it was nice that she chose us over all the other options in Odessa to pretend to be a member of!

Our tradition at Glenwood (which I miss, although it was very hard on the kids and especially Ben, who had to plan 8 worship experiences those weeks!) was to do 8 days of worship leading up to Easter. They have a special worship each night, including the Maundy Thursday and somber Friday service (whatever that was called). It was a good remembering time anyway.

Do any of you have any great ideas for celebrating/remembering?

BTW, I saw Joan Rivers on Martha Stewart today talking about how she just loves Passover--it's her favorite holiday. Martha asked if it was the religious part of it and her response was--No, it's a silly holiday--with lots of wine and joking and children! I'm sure her Jewish friends were loving that!

Happy Easter!
