Canada Trip
This is mom. Jill posted some pictures last night, and I may post a few more if I get time. We are having a great time with the most awesome part of the trip being God's Creation in all its magnificence. The scenery is simply breathtaking everywhere you look.
We have done so many fun things--walking on a glacier, 4 wheeling through mud, creeks, slippery mountainsides--truly all terrain, white water rafting, zip-lining, fishing--besides eating and just enjoying being family. It was so fun when Josh made it all the way across the river--very long stretch, and they had rescued two adult-size girls the day before who didn't make it. Everyone was cheering. Watching Mitch catch his big fish, and Cary letting an even bigger one get away--we laugh a lot. We are always watching for wild life--no bears yet, but elk, big-horn rams, deer, coyote, and a moose. Wonderful. We have taken tons of pictures, of course.
One exciting piece of news: I got an email from a guy at the "Grandparent's Alaska Trip Contest" who said he was going through applications and ran across ours and wanted to know if one of the grandkids could help me get the Utube video to them. (I had sent in the application just before midnight on the last day and couldn't figure out how to get the video uploaded. I told them I was sorry, but I was technologically challenged. :)) We will see what comes of it (Jill sent them the Utube link), but at least we have been noticed.
We are on our way to hike, picnic, and then the girls are going to High Tea at Lake Louise (in our hiking clothes :)). The guys are going to explore some hot springs. Tomorrow we are hoping to get Justin to fly us over the Columbia Ice Field. We have seen dozens of amazing glaciers coming from this huge ice field.
We miss everyone. We are working on the final arrangements for our Brazil Trip which happens one week from today. We love you all, grandma
