One of the serendipities of our Normandy day was a visit to this little town of Bayeaux. We visited a needlework tapestry that was simply amazing--one of the highlights of our trip. It was 225 feet long, hand stitched by the wife of William the Conquerer (1066) and her helpers. It tells the story of conquering England in incredible detail. You walk through a room with headsets as the story is told through the beautiful stitchery in the glass case. I know it sounds dumb, but we all were thoroughly impressed. Reagan wants all his history courses taught that way.
