Lena's 6 mo. checkup

Yesterday was Lena's 6 mo. checkup. She weighed 19 lbs. which brought her down to the 95 %. She is still off the charts at her heighth, which is 27 and 3/4 in. The doctor was impressed that Lena's first word was "hi", said in the right moment (James came home and said "hi" to Lena, and she said it back to him). She chooses her moments to say it, which is not very often. The doctor says Lena is ahead verbally and is doing very well. She said that there is no question that she is going to be tall. We knew that already. She also said that now that Lena is starting to get up on her hands and knees, that she will probably be crawling in the next 3 or 4 weeks. She's doing better at sitting up, but it's still not for very long. She loves to sit in my lap at the computer and tries to type with me and work the mouse.

Lena tried her first jarred food yesterday. It was sweet potatos. She was a little unsure about it, but she kept eating it. She never really spat it out at us. We haven't seen any allergies to it so far. We'll try carrots in a couple of days. She really likes sweet potato veggie puffs and water.
All in all, she's doing pretty good.

That's all I have for now. See you all in a few weeks.

April
