Hi everyone

We are, like the rest of you, busy doing summer, although not as busy as most of you! Our kids are enjoying some "stay-home" days--sleeping late and playing in the sprinklers. Ben's swamped with camp prep and everything else. I'm trying to get ready for our "Backyard Buddies" VBS in our backyard starting June 29th. We're enjoying our friends the Cashes from Uganda being in town for a little while. Church is good. We are meeting tonight with the whole church about whether we should pursue the country club property or not. It's back on the table.

Each day we're learning something new. Yesterday Katy learned that you don't stand on brother's neck--it makes him angry. Alex learned that you don't bring water balloons into the house--they tend to slip right out of your wet hands. And Elijah learned that dropping mommy's strawberry limeade on the floor at Hobby Lobby makes a BIG mess, and doesn't help mommy's mood much. Mommy learned that taking 3 kids to Hobby Lobby after a 2-hour tour of a smelly, dirty un-air-conditioned country club is not a good idea. Poor daddy is trying to learn how to deal with "hot mamma" (brings whole new meaning to the term!) and her many moods!

We're missing all of you! I hope your travels are fun!

Okay, you crack me up! I've decided that people in big families must develop much more character (or go insane) because there are so many personalities to learn to love!! I learned today that taking 5 children to the free summer movies at the theater would probably be more enjoyable without a squirmy, grumpy, teething 6-month-old and a bored 2-year-old! It's time for this mama to get REAL creative at HOME!! Ha! Blessings on your summer!

Yours too! I think of you often! I pray for sleep--sleeping all night long, sleeping late in the mornings, good naps! Oh, what a difference those things make.
