Connor Trip Update

We are having a lot of trouble with our internet connections. I am currently in some meeting room at our hotel in Mystic, CT. We are battling rain everyday, so we are constantly making adjustments to our plans. We left our Boston hotel two days early and headed inland where we spent the night near Sturbridge Village. Our tour of Boston was done in the car in blinding wind and rain--mainly trying to find our way. The most interesting part was seeing people with umbrellas turned inside out and counting the abandoned, destroyed umbrellas laying in the street. We did Sturbridge Village yesterday in a light rain with hundreds of school children. (Didn't their mothers tell them they would catch their death of cold? :)) We drove to Newport, RI just in time to tour The Breakers, the summer home of the Vanderbilts. We walked on the sea cliff for a little while--long enough for me to get a picture of Connor getting soaked by a big wave. We drove to Mystic, CT for the night. This morning it is foggy with the chance of rain this afternoon. We will probably try to do the Mystic Sea Village or Aquarium and then head to NYC. I am praying that the Yankees game will not be rained out. We are having fun, but of course, our adjusted plan keeps us guessing. Connor is darling, and seems to roll with the punches. I really keep asking the Lord why He couldn't send this rain to Midland where they really need it. I guess I need to be like Job and not question. Love you all. I will try to post some pictures soon, but Dad needs the computer now. Love, Grandma

Great pictures...thank you so much for posting them. Sounds like things are going well...except for the rain...but when I talk to Connor it doesn't seem to be affecting his fun! We love and miss you Connor. Have fun at the game tonight!
