Lena Update
Thanks Trisha for posting the situation. I've just arrived back at the apartment following the eventful evening. After an unusually fussy day, Grandma discovered Lena's fever which was recorded at 101.3. After calling Randy, we decided to take her to the Children's Hospital at Brackenridge in the downtown area to be safe. After a couple of hours of testing, they decided to give some general antibiotics and to observe her for at least one day (probably two). Two good points: one, everyone who looked at her remarked at how adorable and healthy she looked. The second was that the resident and nurses attempting to hold her down for the tests remarked at how strong she was. One doctor said she was the strongest 3-day old he'd ever treated. Her weight and color are good; they have her on an IV drip and will be giving antibiotics again around 4 am. Daddy is proud of his little girl for being so strong and for being very good for a newborn in her situation. He is also feeling a bit guilty as it's proably his cold that gave her the fever.
Everyone is confident she'll have a speedy recovery and will be fit for travel to meet aunts, uncles, and cousins at Christmas. Mom, Grandma, and Lena have VERY comfortable sleeping arrangements for hospital standards, and Daddy came home to rest and to keep from sharing any more germs with Mom and Lena (and everyone else). Please pray for physical and mental health for all, especially for April and Lena (but for Grandma and me as well).
Love you all,
James

So sorry, guys. I know how it can just break your heart to have a baby in the hospital. Give April and Rita a big hug for me. Grandma is a godsend at times like these - I'm glad she's with you. Sounds like Lena has a good chance at being home, soon. You have my heart and my prayers.
